So this week has been kinda slow with the Mac out of commission until at least Saturday. I REALLY want to finish Hummingbird Waltz before NJ Fantasy Faire next weekend. All I have left on it is the cherry blossoms so that is only a two day thing.
I am currently cleaning my studio from the festivalsplosion that happens every time I do a show. SO much to pack and unpack and it seems like once i am unpacked it is time to pack it again. I am having some serious Sisyphus issues going on here. I am still trying to get my butt into Otakon and just in case I am adding a few more art shows to make up for it. So much to do!! Its getting harder to keep up that is for sure.
Johnnie and I are getting ready for INATS West, fighting with customs and prepping for NJ fantasy Faire as well as Anthrocon. I have to wait for my mac to come back before I can do prints which is a pain. Luckily I have some left over from MD fairy festival and well orders have been slow this week.
I want do so some special pieces for Anthrocon so that is next on my ever growing to do list. This weekend we are going to TRY and take it easy but with the Mac hopefully coming back it is a software reinstall, make tons of prints and paint paint paint weekend. Then we go crazy for the month of June into July.

Dead and gone
So I got the bad news yesterday that my whole hard drive is fried beyond repair. I lost all my data. It will be at the Apple store for at least a week thanks to the holiday weekend and them needing a part shipped in. I can't work on my painting but did manage to get it off of my computer in time. I tried to back the whole system up the night before it completely fried but I don't know how successful it was. If it wasn't I have lost a fair amount of things that weren't backed up. Yeah yeah back up my work, retrospect works real well.
After the bad news we ran a ton of errands yesterday and I started planting in the front yard. I have one more big bed to do and it is finished. We even got some solar powered path lights and they look nice. After a few more shows I may start constructing my dream garden in the back yard. We need to fence it off first and so far quotes are WAY two high. Just something else to add to the list of things for me to do.
We head up to Balticon this afternoon to see if anything sold. I hope most or all of it did I need room! I will be looking for other shows to mail into and we go to NJ fantasy faire in two weeks. Lots to do. Today I want to finish up the front yard,Make some wings for sculptures and maybe start a new "real" painting or sculpture. I need to start focusing on Anthrocon.
Hope everyone is having a great long weekend. No worries about me being unreachable, I still have my HP laptop. If the computer takes much longer I will get a macbook.

when it rains...
So the week isn't ending as smoothly as I like. My Mac is on the fritz and I am terribly worried I have lost a lot of files including my new painting Hummingbird Waltz. I have an appointment to take it in to get it looked at ($$$$) and then have to buy a Mac Time machine ($$$) so I can back it all up as other cheaper backups don't work with the Mac. Sigh. So it looks like I am NOT painting this weekend.
I AM offering 3 sculpture spots for a baby dragon or unicorn. I got some cool film in so I can do translucent wings. So I hardly ever do these but I thought hey I can't paint what I want and I am spending massive $$$ so why not?
Sooo the first three people to email me and pay ash@ashevans.com can get a custom baby dragon Or baby unicorn or fox or kitty. 50.00 plus shipping depending on where you are.
My figurines are having issues in customs and we have to pay storage fees to the warehouse until they straighten it out..so we get to pay for someone elses error...yeah that rocks too.
The good news is later this afternoon we are going to Balticon 43!!! I am going to hang some things in the art show and I am hoping they all find amazing homes!! I am also keen on making some neato wings for sculptures this weekend. There is always a silver lining..I just hope everything works out as cheaply as possible.

Back from the show
We are back from the MD Fairy fest. I had a really nice time the weather stayed good despite warnings of rain through the weekend. It was raining when we got there Sunday morning but by the time the gates opened it had stopped and that was it for the rain.
I want to thank the MD Fairy Festival Staff and helpers for having me be a guest it was a really great time and I can't wait until next year. Thanks to everyone who came out to see me it really meant a lot to me that you came.
I have photos that I will post tomorrow, The camera is still in the car. Johnnie had his first official Greenman march at the show and had a good time. Sales where pretty good. All in all it was a awesome show all around for us.
This weekend we will be at Balticon 43 in the art show. Today I am going to select the originals and special things going into it for a good price. Hopefully most or all of it will sell, I could sure use the space. I am working on my new painting but later in the day as I have some other things to do. It should be done by the end of the week.
The figurines are in the USA and clearing customs now, we are setting up a delivery and may have them this week.

Work out
This week is flying by. We are all ready for the MD fairy festival this week. I have some orders to ship out on Friday and then we go set up for the show.
Today I have been working on a sculpture but I stopped to do a workout and now I am not feeling it like I was this morning. I am trying really hard to get back into shape. I do 30 min on my elliptical machine as a warm up and then I do an intense 20 min circuit training video. I think it will do the trick as I am starting to see results already. I am thinking of adding a sculpting workout for the weekends I am not doing shows. We will see how that goes.
Other then that things are pretty much same old same old. No word on the figurines yet.

? Take Kenilworth Ave (exit 23 - MD Route 201) north.

From Greenbelt Road (MD 193):
? Turn left on Southway into Historic Greenbelt

almost time!
Hi Everyone,
I have been busy busy getting ready for Greenman. 1/2 of my new show cloths came so I will have my tent looking partially good for the show at least ;) The new cloths are purple! I love them. I want to get some new fabric to drape over them as well but one thing at a time. Today I want to finish packing for the show and finish cleaning my studio. I am about 1/2 way through the studio. I only have my painting desk and a few other areas to clean and then I can do the closet which is practically empty anyway.
I started out a new intense work out routine yesterday. I hope I can keep making time to do it. It is kicking my butt! I should be in pretty slammin shape by the time Faeriecon rolls around. Which is awesome, I really really want a certain outfit for it but it is one of those types that if you aren't flawless don't bother. I am not too bad off, I am a 6 but could be in better shape. So that is my goal. I do 30 min on my elliptical to warm up and then another 30 of intense cardio, strength training and ab work. Fun
As soon as I am all packed and ready and I clean the house a bit i am going to start working on a new painting. I want to have something new for each show. We will see how that works out. Its a pretty lofty goal!
Fantasy Scraps released some new tubes and tube sets for anyone who is interested.

rainy day
Man I hope this rain quits for the weekend. I don't want to have to deal with it for my outdoor show. It is always SO stressful to unload and set up in the rain. Sales are bad then too. The house is so dark it is hard to stay motivated but I am here packing up stuff for the show and making sure everything is ready.
I need to get some spring cleaning done as well. It is getting SO hard for me to work full time and keep up with the house and everything on top of it.
So today is just catching up on emails, cleaning and packing. Tomorrow hopefully painting and cleaning, we will see.
I finished Guenevere queen of the summer country last night and I really liked it. I plan on reading the whole series. I have so many books to read its great!
In other fun I have been shopping for costume stuff for shows, I should have some really cool stuff soon. Some is still on my wish list for when the shows start and I have some extra cash. I also know May means Aromaleigh will be releasing new LE colors that I can't say no to either. Oh and there are some new clay things I want for sculpting...LOL I am getting ahead of myself ;)
Well that is enough rambling for today. Lots to do, lots to do.
