New year
There is something about the start of a new year that makes the air feel like there is magic in it. Excitement crackles like electricity. Perhaps it is the newness, the possibilities or the fact that we get to start over. Everyone deserves a fresh start, to learn from mistakes and work toward their future. So tonight when this year expires and a new one is welcomed in with fanfare and kisses, I would like to wish you a fresh start and a the hope of a new beginning.
This new year I do have some goals I want to focus on. I am really looking forward to meeting tasks head on, improving my art and expanding my business into the best it can be. We have come a long way since we started with a little card table at a local show (we had 10 prints and a bucket of buttons) (remember Shane you where there) but we still have farther to go, more things to achieve and new levels to rise to.
I want to thank you all for your kind words, encouragement and appreciation over this year. My friends and fans keep me going when art is hard, sales are down and inspiration doesn't seem to be coming. Thank you all for your support and friendship. It all means the world to me. I have a feeling that 2009 is going to be a big one and I can't wait to get started.

Hi Everyone,
I was up late last night painting. I am about 60% done with the last part of my project and I should have it in time for my video blog on Sunday. I am really excited to be sharing my new stuff with you!
After the new year sale (which is going on now) you are going to be seeing a lot of changes in how we do stuff on the site and around here. We have a lot of product coming in and that means for space reasons some we have to say goodbye to. Just a reminder the Fluffy, Dante and Jay statuary is retiring and we have very limited quantities of what is left. I think we have 8 Dantes, 3 Jays and a few Fluffys. They are signed.They are on SALE right now for 12.00
Lots of prints will be pulled forever at this time as well. We will be getting in some new postcard designs, carrying scrapbook pages and our perfume oils are getting a new look. The large 1 oz size has been discontinued by Mystic Memories so whatever I have left on my site is IT. I would really like to move my perfume oils so that I can restock with the new size and packaging. So lets say anyone who buys 3 or more perfume oils in any size gets a free cameo necklace. Also we have two gift boxes with the 12 dram sized (the whole collection) They won't be made anymore as far as I know so if you buy one of those you can have a free necklace as well.
I will also be adding a fan section to my site so be sure to send in your tattoo pictures,craft projects with the fabric squares, framed original pictures or you with my merchandise! I will post it.
Right now we are in the process of applying to and selecting shows. This year I am even doing some panels and workshops for a few so that will be nice. As things solidify I will let you all know where I will be in 2009. You are all in for a big surprise with our setup and new goodies!
Johnnie has decided he wants to be more hands on with the company also. Not that he doesn't do a TON already but a lot of it is cropping and setting up images and Igoogle themes. This year he is going to be working on framing and jewelry. He is also editing my very first art book which we are hoping will be complete for the beginning of show season. Money permitting we could be offering Custom Framing on originals and matted archivals. Lots of new things! New print sizes, new look, new product for the new year. I think 2009 is going to be our best year ever!

Update
Hi Everyone,
I hope you all had a happy holiday! Johnnie and I did even though it entailed a LOT of driving around from place to place. We are still tired from the whole thing. Yesterday I did NOTHING which was really really nice. That is a pretty rare thing for me.
We had a good Christmas. I got lots of books and really nice things. I get to go to Michaels today and spend a gift certificate for art supplies! Our pets even got a gift certificate to Petsmart from my aunt so we are going to buy some stuff with that today as well. We have so much FOOD. Junk food stuff like you can't believe...it is sooo good but we can only eat so much of that before we get tired of it.
I got a really cute IPOD shuffle and video games and some clothes. All in all it was pretty good. Everyone loved the kettle corn we made so that was good. I was nervous they wouldn't.
Tomorrow I want to finish up my last painting of the series I have been working on. Then I have to get straight into some other stuff.
Well I better get going i am expecting an important call.

One more to go
Hi Everyone,
Last night so I could stay on task I did manage to finish my third painting. Started the last one today. Things are going along at a good clip so I do hope to finish it this week despite having to go all over the place for the holidays. We spend most of the time in the car shuffling from one place to another and I am not a fan of it really. One year I want to just stay put. Just one..
Last night was SO COLD!!! I went to sleep in my studio cause it was warmer though Johnnie put a space heater in there this morning. I left it on cause all of my kitties are huddling in there in front of it.
We have so much stuff going on here business wise. Lots of things being decided, like shows and packaging along with new products. It is an exciting time. I just hope I can pull it all off.
Well my paint is dry off to add another layer. Have a good one :)

Almost!
I have a wash drying on my newest painting which is a watercolor and colored pencil piece. I am really happy with how it is turning out and I hope to have it completed tonight. I then have one more in the "series" of paintings I have been working on and then I can release them. I am pretty excited about them so I can't wait to share them with you.
Johnnie and I have been working on laying out my new upcoming art book! The introduction was done by one of my best friends so I am really excited about publishing it now. We still have loads of work to do on it but the cover is designed, all artwork has been chosen and all the hard stuff. Now all I have to do is keep making art for it and when we feel like it is finished off to the publisher it goes. Really cool!
It is nice to be working with watercolors again. I haven't really been doing a lot of that this year, other then some abstract backgrounds for the Sugar Wyrms. I have been really unicorn focused lately as well. I just got so inspired by my favorite breed that I just went with it. I do have to get some dragons out as a theme for one of the shows I am doing is dragons. It figures the one year I really didn't paint any was the year they picked that for a theme. I have some more projects to get out of the way before I focus on anything else. In fact my painting schedule has been planned as far as Feb 16th! Already! Totally nuts I know.
Lots of boring web stuff to take care of as well. I will be adding new counted cross stitch patterns and subtracting retired art. Also all the new figurines are up for you to look at but not to purchase.
Well I am going to do another wash and try to relax. Have a great evening everyone.

Walk this way!!
OK so I batted my eyelashes and got some holiday gifts early.. including Guitar Hero Aerosmith..HOLY CRAP! That game is SO fun but as some one who really plays guitar I find it totally hard. I have a tendency to make things harder then they really are all the time. My non musical husband however is wiping the floor with me. I can't have that. So I guess I am going to play until I get guitarthritus! Really it is a lot of fun.
Today I am just trying to relax and do some reading and things. I will be working on my site later, maybe some painting. Johnnie is doing more Igoogle themes because people keep harassing him for more (even though you can only have one theme at a time) He likes it and thinks they are fun to make though so it is all good. I have a mostly completed painting sitting here waiting for me to make up my mind on something so I can finish it. I am going to try to do that this weekend as well. If I can pry myself away from guitar hero anyway.

Vacation!
YAY! I am officially closed for the holiday! My last orders went out this morning and I don't have to ship out again till January 5th. I can relax a little! Clean my house, update my site. Breathe! YAY.
I have been reading like a fiend lately. Most of today in fact since it is dark and rainy I got to read in bed. It was nice! I have a painting that I have been working on off and on. It is 90% done. Then I have another all drawn out and ready to do. I can't wait to show it to all of you!
I have an 8 painting project coming up after that. I can't really talk about what it is for yet but it is pretty cool. After that I have a few more tricks up my sleeve. The new year is going to be filled with such fun stuff I am SO excited.
Johnnie is coming home early today and we are going to finish up some holiday stuff. It should be a lot of fun. I hope everyone has an awesome weekend and at the very least I will be posting a video blog again on Sunday

Only one day left
Hi Everyone,
I wanted to remind you that tomorrow December 18th is the LAST day to put in orders that will ship before the holiday. All orders placed before then will ship Friday December the 19th. Then we are "closed" for the holiday. Of course my site is still open and ready for orders. They will just ship on January the 5th. My Etsy shop will remain open as well.
So seriously December 18th 11:59 that is IT.
I am looking forward to a little "break" though I know I will be painting and doing some other things during my down time. A lot of images will be disappearing from my site forever as we are retiring a lot of my older work to make way for better stuff ahead.
Lots of changes coming in the New year!

Today is good so far. Still a little feverish but I slept in and woke up with the go ahead for a new project which rocks! I have completed 2 paintings in my secret project I have been working on. They will be photographed today. I also plan on adding photos of the new figurines to the site to generate interest. Johnnie and I are also working on my art book. Cool stuff is happening!
I have to schedule some things this year so that I have time to do everything I want to do. Already!! LOL. I am planning my show schedule and doing some other business stuff today. We are also going to decorate our tree and I want to finish off the rest of my cards and wrapping so I don't have to worry about it anymore. 5 days to get orders in before we stop shipping for the holidays!!
I am really excited to show you some new art but you guys have to wait till the whole project is done. It MAY be before Christmas but I may wait till the new year.

I am still not feeling so hot and the icky weather outside isn't helping much. I just want to stay in bed and read but I am still painting away. I would say I am about 50% with the new painting. I still have a lot of work I want to do on it. Depending on how productive I am/ how well I feel will determine when it is complete.
I still have so much holiday stuff to do! I am SO behind. Really, usually this stuff is done in October but Faeriecon this year made that impossible. Oh well it will get done when it gets done. I did another stack of cards last night and they went in the mail today. I have some orders packed up and ready to go to the post office tomorrow. Just a reminder 1 week from today is your LAST chance to get orders in to ship before the holiday break!!! Anything ordered tonight will ship tomorrow.
I have been doing some scouting for new products for the new year. I have some ideas floating around and Johnnie does as well. He is going to be more hands on this year in terms of crafting products. He does a lot of computer geekery for me now but he wants to get creative as well. We work well together most of the time (when he does what I say LOL ;) ) so it will be fun to do some more projects. I am really excited!! 2009 is going to be our best year ever.

Retired
Hi Everyone,
I wanted to give you all a heads up that I still have VERY limited quantities of my Retired figurines! These will be the LAST signed figurines of these guys ever and we will NOT be carrying them anymore. I would like the remainder of them to find homes by New Year so we can start out fresh with new designs.
I have the following still:

5 Fluffy's (this is a replica of my VERY first fantasy painting so I think he is extra special)
8 Dante the fire dragon
I also have VERY limited quantities of Holiday Candles, I won't get any more until the new year.

I have to wait until Johnnie gets home to fix it as he has electrical tools that can remove the part still in the light. Update

I have been working away on a new painting! I have finished it and it is really cool. I am not going to be posting it until the other parts of this particular project are finished so you all are going to have to wait. Sorry!!
Just a reminder we are only going to be open for the holidays for 9 more days! All orders after the 18th will be shipped AFTER the holidays in January. Please keep that in mind. Dear Santa
Hi everyone,
I am sorry I didn't get around to my video blog today. I have been dealing with some family stuff that just made that impossible. I do promise to film and post it tomorrow. Yesterday we went to the tree lot and got a nice tree. We got home just in time for the snow to start falling. Then we where off to Camden Yards for Johnnie's holiday party for his office. It was really nice. They had carnival games and all sorts of things! It was one of the most fun parties I have ever been to. I haven't even decorated my tree yet some other things came up. We hope to get to it tomorrow though. I need to finish my cards as well.
I am a little frazzled so I thought I would cheer myself up with my ultimate gift list. It is more of just a fantasy thing for me, just something fun to do.

I am sorry I didn't get around to my video blog today. I have been dealing with some family stuff that just made that impossible. I do promise to film and post it tomorrow. Update
Hey everyone,
We all had such a fun time in NYC!! We went to the top of the Empire State Building. Can you believe at 1,000 feet there are pigeons up there??? It was crazy! We also went to Rockefeller Center and saw the tree and everything. I went to Bryant Park! We also saw Parsons for those who watch Project Runway. Also we went to Central Park and their zoo there! It was pretty neat I got to feed some goats! Ooh I went to Tiffany's and the HUGE Macys as well as Fao schwartz. It was a long day and we had a lot of fun. Unfortunately Steven had to cut his trip short and he is now back in Scotland. Everything is OK now but what a bummer. I am trying to make my smile my umbrella and see the advantages in having an additional week to work. I was looking forward to doing touristy stuff in Washington DC though.
Anyway, Today we are getting our Christmas tree and then going to a really fancy holiday party. It should be a fun day. We made chocolate chip cookies last night. I think I am going to make up a list of things I want Santa to bring me too!! I am a geek it is mostly art supplies and books.

Update..
I was up LATE last night working on my secret new project!! I am happy to say Phase 1 is 75% complete with the remainder projected to be finished by the end of the weekend. Then Phase 2 starts monday but I am having a rather big distraction from Scotland coming so who knows how long phase two will take? I may hang onto these till the new year, I am not sure. We will see where we are at.
I was woken up EARLY this morning by a delivery from China!! My 2009 Prototypes for the new figurines are here!!! YAY! They are SO awesome, I totally love them. Johnnie will be photographing them this weekend and we will be showing them to you soon. He put in a half a day at work today so he should be home at lunch time so I can put him to work!! He is going to photograph Enchanted moon too and format some things for products. Maybe do an Igoogle theme too. He rocks.
My best friend from High School, Kelly is headed over, I am SO glad she called! I was so engrossed in Project X I totally forgot she was coming today. My laser beam like focus at times can be a detriment to everyone who loves me...I forget things a lot. That is why I don't have plants..the pets at least say Hey..yeah feed and pet me.

Painting
Hi Everyone,
I hope you all had a magical Thanksgiving!! For my non US buddies I hope your Thursday was just as magical! We had a LOT of food yesterday! Having two families houses to go to means 2x the food. I didn't think I was going to make it! Oddly as full as I was, I was hungry again at like 8 pm being as all we ate the entire day was one meal and dessert. Everything was really good and it was great to spend some time with out families.
I did manage to work on my project a lot more this evening. I would say I am 50% done with phase one. I plan on having phase one completed by Sunday. That will still give me almost a full day to paint before I get Steven from the airport. Lets hope I stay this productive for a while! I hate not being able to create or in a rut it makes me feel so useless! I like my new project. I am wondering if I should release it right away or hold onto it for the new year...hmmm decisions decisions.
It is late and I find myself WIDE awake! I go through the oddest sleep phases I swear. I just can't shut my brain off. This would have come in handy if I wanted to brave the Black Friday crowds. That is SO not for me. Johnnie and I did that one year and that was plenty! 90% of my shopping is done already and I am going to fill out my cards this weekend. I like to take care of these things early so I can actually ENJOY the holidays. That and I will have Steven here and we have all sorts of fun things planned.

Thanksgiving!!
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!
The thing that irks me about this day is the presidential "pardon" of the one lucky turkey. My question is what crime did said turkey commit and why oh why is it punishable by cannibalism? What is THAT? Apparently it is a crime to be delicious. Believe me if pies had feelings I wouldn't be so indignant about their ritual slaughter.. Sigh. Next year we are skipping the family thing and having tofurky.
I am working late (or early depending on how you look at it) on my next art piece! It is all inked and sitting on the art desk now. I am pretty excited about it but I won't say more then that. I have plans for this one, grand plans. We will see if it all comes to fruition. Enchanted Moon is done and she is coming. This weekend I think.
Today and every day I am thankful I get to do a job that I love and for all my friends and fans. (among MANY other blessings)

New artwork
I just finished putting the finishing touches on Enchanted Moon!! Yeah I know she was a long time coming. If I have time before T Day kickoff I will post her on here tomorrow.
I have an idea for a new watercolor piece. I haven't done a straight up watercolor in such a long time it should be interesting. I hate not having an undo button!!!
Steven comes on Monday!! I have so many things to do before he gets here (like finish my shopping and do my holiday cards) I want to be able to go places and show him around. I doubt he traveled 3000 miles to watch me work. I will be working in the evenings and everything still will ship on Fridays. All orders paid in full this week will be shipped on Friday.
Anyway I better get back to work.

The new bottles and everything are LOVELY but I have full sized samples of a lot of things I had for trade shows this year. They are less then a year old and in perfect condition. Girlie head tilt weekend!!
Yay the weekend is there! The Twilight movie is out! Giovanna Adams and I are having a "Girlie head tilt weekend" with bad food, vampires and other dreamy boy movies. We are going to see Twilight tomorrow! I <3 Edward..yeah I know I am a DORK. Poor Johnnie I hope he doesn't choke to death on the estrogen. It will be nice to have estrogen in the house. I am GROSSLY outnumbered. The only other girls in the house is one rabbit and the chinchilla. Everything else ..BOYS!
I am straightening up a little before Giovanna gets here (we are clutter bugs) and deciding which shows to do next year. I can't believe juries and everything are taking apps now. I just finished last month! I want to do SO much more art before everything kicks off again in May (or sooner if we add some shows to the roster) There never seems to be enough time. There is even less time with a procrastinator like me.
I have finally finished with going through samples and prototyping of figurines, I have been doing it for AGES now but I want it all to be PERFECT so that is how it goes. Next week Johnnie and I are going through finances and seeing what we are going to be doing for 2009. Then it is Thanksgiving. Monday December 1st Steven is coming back to America for two weeks!! I am going to be busy busy busy.
Johnnie will be working on a special project this weekend too!
Also a reminder that my figurines and matted archival prints are buy two get one free until MONDAY the 24th of November. ALL of my original art is on sale right now too. I should be adding new necklaces to ETSY and maybe some other fun stuff. Maybe I will do a few little sculptures ..maybe not. We will see.

I have come to realize that I have WAY too many original art pieces kicking about here and that is hindering any new art I may be creating. So EVERY original I have is on SALE. Some very drastically reduced. There are several pieces under 100.00. I really want to clear all of these out to make room for new art and merchandise.

What should I do?
Ok well I want to start a new piece but I don't know if I should do a traditional medium or another digital piece. I am torn my digital pieces are selling REALLY well, better then I expected actually.

Head desk..
What is it about Corel painter x which makes me try it for like 5 min and then run back screaming to Photoshop? Is it the choices? All the brushes? What is it??All I can manage to do in it is make a puddle of mud and I get all twitchy. Do I just paint wrong? It makes me wonder all the time. Seriously Painter X is my arch nemesis. EVIL EVIL EVIL. I am sure it doesn't help that I want to be able to paint like Nene Thomas like yesterday.... HAAHAHA a girl can dream can't she?
So today I am still feeling pretty uninspired so I am fiddling with a digital piece that has been kicking around forever. I want to do a traditional piece next, but I totally lack focus. I think I have AADD (art attention deficit disorder) I always seem to agree to too much, get overwhelmed and shut down. I never learn, I never change, I am guessing there is a sick little part of me that likes to suffer. Lots to do. Johnnie is overloaded at work so I lost him as a helper for the week. Things are about to get interesting I feel.
There are so many pieces I WANT to do and paint, I just can't seem to get them out so they sit there gnawing at the inside of my skull. Part of me doesn't want to paint because I have originals sitting around unloved. I really need to just auction them off. I will get around to it someday I am sure. My Mr Printy still isn't working. I think he may have died, which makes me sad because it is SO expensive to get another one. Who knew the move to glossy prints would be such a total pain in the butt!!!
I AM looking forward to this weekend!!! Yay for girlie head tilt weekend with booze and vampires and fun!! Is it Friday yet???

Sad
I am sad to say that things did not work out with our adopted dog. We had to return him to the shelter yesterday evening. He had issues we where trying to work through (which is much expected with a pound puppy) but yesterday he attacked both myself and Loki my cat. Attacking me I could live with but I can't put any of my pets in harms way. It was a hard decision for me to make because I feel like I could have gotten through to him eventually but again not at the expense of someone else. Good old Cezar even put himself between Brutus and the cat. He is sad not to have a playmate but I think even he was uneasy with some things. The good news is a rescue was on its way to pick him up and with my notes they should be able to place him in a cat free home. I am still beating myself up about it and I am sure I will do for days to come. For Cezars sake we will be looking at other adoptables later on. He definitely needs another Chihuahua as he enjoys their company the most (I guess he is breedist)

New!!!
Hi Everyone,
I am HAPPY to say I have a new web host! THANK GOD because my last one was NOT good at all. So everything should be faster and better and sorry for the inconveniences it has caused many of you. We worked as quickly as possible to correct the problem.

Everyone is adjusting the best they can with our new dog. He is a little on the aggressive side and he has separation anxiety issues but I think we can work through them and everyone will be happy in the end. Brutus and Cezar are sleeping comfortably in the studio as I type.
Today I intend on finishing my special new necklaces that I have been working on. They are really great and with any luck they will be on sale this week. I only have a few because I wanted to try them out and see if they where successful. So when they DO come out please know the quantities are limited.
My candles are shipping tomorrow! I should have more in stock by the weekend but be aware these are the LAST ones until the new year. My candle fairy is moving and we won't be able to place any more orders until after the holiday.
Speaking of holiday as a reminder get your orders in EARLY! We have limited stock of some items and we are simply not reordering until after the new year. The last day to place a holiday order is Friday December 19th. I can in no way promise that it will arrive at its destination before the holiday but we decided to stay open later this year as we got a few emails last year saying please please please. I caved but I will say this year is going to be different. No exceptions it was just way too stressful last year!

Life with a second dog..
Life with a second dog is pretty interesting. The whole pack mentality kicks in and it is interesting for me to watch things. I also realize how SPOILED Cezar had me. He IS so good I take for granted all dogs aren't like him. We got this dog so Cezie wouldn't be such a couch potato. He didn't like going on walks. We have found a match with Brutus. He LOVES to walk. I have been woken up at 5:30 this morning ( dreadfully early for me) and we have already been out in the cold for a walk. MAN I need to buy warmer clothes or it is going to be a LONG winter.Brutus is adjusting OK. He has some behavioral issues but I think a lot of that will be worked out when he is neutered. Hopefully things will work out. I am just thankful I have had training with animals before. For those of you who don't know I was a Vet Tech for 2 years and was studying to go to vet school. Unfortunately I got exposed to too much radiation at the place where I worked and was unable to keep working there or continue my studies due to the over exposure. I simply can't take more Xrays on a day to day basis. Its sad but I am a firm believer of things happening for a reason. I also worked a bit with horses and used to ride a lot. I would like to get back into riding but lessons are pricey and horse ownership is even more so. I am hoping as my business progresses I find myself able to continue with that. I love horses and riding so much! I guess you can tell that from some of my work huh?

hmmm...
Hi Everyone,
I hope everyone had a delightfully spooky Halloween! We had lots of ghosts and goblins coming to our door this year. We did manage to have a little leftover candy which is always nice. I made some Chile pepper pumpkin seeds as well as a batch of Old Bay seeds too. They are yummy! We took very few photos, I will have to post them tomorrow in my Vlog. I am feeling a little bit better though I am not 100% yet which is driving me NUTS.
Also I am having an issue with my EPSON printer. I have a really nice printer which does photos, the problem is I never had used it for glossy photos before. It prints like a dream on matte paper but I wanted to upgrade all my prints now to the glossy. The problem is I have LINES through every glossy print I make. I tried the nozzle check (several tries and lots of wasted ink later no change) Print head alignment, changing the print speed. Nothing! The Matte paper ones are PERFECT, I just don't get it. I bought the paper the recommended and everything. Has anyone had this problem? Any advice? It is an EPSON R1800 printer. Sigh I really really hope this doesn't mean another printer for me just for glossy. If anyone out there prints on glossy what do you use? I spent SO much on paper it isn't even funny, I never dreamed there would be an issue since I never had problems before and EPSON recommended this paper FOR my printer! Customer service swears it is broken but if it was why only on the glossy paper?
Oh well.
Today I am trying to take it easy as much as possible, I am itching to get back to work but I am just not feeling well enough yet.

Sick :(
Yeah it got me, I put up a valiant effort but I lost. Hard core. I have a pretty nasty fever and it is making it hard for me to sleep. I am tired and all I have managed to do is read and check my email. I am unable to concentrate enough on art to make any which sucks :( I do however intend to make the most of my "resting time" I have burned through the first two Twilight books in two days and had to order the other two. Yeah I know I am totally fangirling over Edward now too, yay for my inner 12 year old. Why are vampires so damn dreamy? I have started Sense and Sensibility to tide me over while Amazon ships my other books. I bought all of the Alice and Wonderland books AND the complete Jane Austen works super cheap last night so that should tide me over for a while. I am also almost finished two baby blankets and I started my Holiday Cards. I may make another adult blanket and some scarves. It depends on if I manage to go out and get yarn. I think this week I am going to do all my holiday online shopping and finish up some stuff like that while making the most of my sick time. I have a guest coming in December so I am wanting to have everything done early (Like I never do that anyway, I make my mother sick)
Also I will put together a book list and other stuff I have like BPAL (yeah I am addicted hard core now) and other sorts of stuff I think you all may be interested in for trading.
Orders and everything are business as usual. Johnnie will be shipping out on Friday instead of me but it is all going out as planned so no worries there. I am still packing up everything I just don't want to leave the house looking like death warmed over, especially in this wind.
Anyway, I am off to stare at my book and hope to retain it all in my zombified state.
Also I will put together a book list and other stuff I have like BPAL (yeah I am addicted hard core now) and other sorts of stuff I think you all may be interested in for trading.

Thanks for all the congratulatory wishes yesterday. We had a really nice evening, we went out to dinner (too many martinis for me though) and then to a book store...yeah we are that wild. I bought some more books to read. Johnnie got me a lovely aquamarine necklace, I just love aquamarines! I am trying to get back on track with painting. I dunno pushing myself like I did the last two months before Faeriecon has left me pretty burned out. That and I am up at funny hours again. I never get my mind to shut off, so now I am burning through a book a day or every other day. I read Twilight (yeah I am a geek) in a day and last night I started in on New Moon and I am halfway through that. I am going to donate the books to my mom's school after I am finished with them.
I have a lot of lofty aspirations for next month, I hope I get some things I want done. For today and the rest of the week I think I will be cleaning and getting rid of things I don't want/need anymore. I might post a book list and maybe we can trade on here or something if anyone is interested. I am also fighting off a cold hard core. Airborne is helping keep it at bay but if I run out of the stuff I am not sure what is going to happen.

Catching up
Hi Everyone,
Dinner last night was fabulous I adore sushi! We have the best restaurant by our house and Johnnie, myself and my family all went out to dinner. I was SO full it wasn't even funny. I am going to have to work out double hard to work it off. Today I am doing some house stuff and making a baby blanket. NO it is NOT for me, it is for my Sister in law. I have another one to make after that. Fracking relatives keep breeding! Making a blanket for a baby out of pink fuzzy yarn makes me feel dirty...This is how Tim Burton must feel in the Pottery Barn. Or Steven King in lego land or something. It is just off and WRONG. I have to admit baby clothes and all that stuff scare the hell out of me. I don't like touching them I almost feel like I am asking for it. ICK. Don't get me wrong I like babies, they are swell just I like them more when they are someone elses! I am doing some sketches for an upcoming project as well. I did one finished line art yesterday and I plan on doing another one today in between crocheting as much as I can stand. I have to make 2 by Christmas and I am not sure if I am going to manage. We will see though. My December is already filling up fast! I can't believe it. It isn't even Halloween yet.
Anyway the pink fuzziness beckons...shudder.

Witching Hour WIP Update
I am steadily working on my Halloween piece called the Witching Hour. I am hoping to have it finished by this evening so that I can have prints ready to take to Harvest Festival tomorrow!!
I will be in Greenbelt Maryland Tomorrow for the Harvest Festival
Harvest Festival, October 5th from 10 am to 5 pm on the Roosevelt Center, Greenbelt, Md.
Johnnie, Cezar and I will be there with my latest fantasy paintings, new products AND you get first crack at everything I am taking to Faeriecon, including our Framed Prints AND Matted Archival prints a lot of which we only have ONE of each type. I have some beautiful new matted archival prints of my Striped Socks painting as well as Sea Spray, Phoenix Moon and a ton of others. I have very limited quantities of my retiring figurines which will be there too. Whisper and Mephe are GONE!! We only have a few left of Jay the Vulture, and Dante and Fluffy the dragons. Hope to see you there!!!
I am sure tomorrow evening I will tell you guys all about the show and hopefully have enough energy for a video blog!

What I am working on

Only two days till harvest festival!!! 1 week till Faeriecon!! I have a LOT of works in progress in various stages of the process. I have in the works:
5 Traditional paintings
Enchanted moon about 80% done
Candy corn Wyrm 30% done
Sugar Skull Wyrm 30% done
2 Candycorns hardly started
And onto the Digital art:
Fallen Knight
White Rabbit
Thistle, yes this is a digital revisiting of a watercolor I did, I redrew the whole thing from scratch. I am also going to rework a LOT Of this piece.

Striped Socks is complete!
Yay!! I am happy with the final outcome of this piece. I could have worked on it forever and ever but it got to a place where I liked it so I said cool it is done. This piece was done in Photoshop from scratch with my Cintiq. I draw directly on my tablet because I think tons of sketching wastes paper. What is the point I am just going to have to scan it in anyway? I paint in Photoshop with no fancy filters or mystical lighting tricks with the basic brushes. I do have Mystical lighting which is awesome, I did add the little twinkles to Sea Spray with it but I am not sure how heavy I will ever get into it.
Prints are printed, Striped Socks is posted on Zazzle and up for sale. I will be adding it to the website shortly. I have been pretty productive today. I have laundry going and Cezar just got a bath, he is lounging in his bathrobe now. Yeah he has one, my aunt bought it for him. Its pink and he actually really likes it.
6 new pieces for Faeriecon, I am pretty OK with that. If I do more great, if I don't that is good too.

Sigh..
<---- this is one of the several reasons I hardly get painting done. All of my animals are lap fungi and they need loads of attention. I can't ever say no...The stuff behind us in the picture is show stuff. Yeah I have one next Sunday. Then Thursday I get Steven from the airport and Friday waaaaay too early we all leave for Faeriecon. I will be excited once I get there and there isn't anything else for me to do!!It is a soggy soggy day here! All dark and rainy and I don't feel like doing ANYTHING but sleeping. Must get to work.....

Paint Everywhere!!!
Hi everyone,
I managed to get 4 abstract backgrounds done last night. You know what that means right?? More wyrms..I guess I got a little too carried away because I got paint all over the place! I need to get that cleaned up before Steven gets here. Man I can be a mess sometimes.
I have a busy weekend ahead of me. Johnnie is hanging cabinet doors and has an assortment of other things to do. I will be painting away and making buttons and all sorts of other things for the shows. I did a lot of inventory yesterday which is really time consuming. I still need to count prints so I know what I need to make for the shows. I can't believe I have a show NEXT weekend. I am totally freaking insane but I love it. I am getting my costumes together for Faeriecon as well. My mom is working on one (please god let her just finish it I know she rarely manages to accomplish that..) and I had a back ordered piece finally ship from the Pyramid Collection. A word to the wise with that company. Order early and don't expect it in in time. I have ordered with them 3 times and my shortest wait for an order was three months. My longest was 6!! Hardly any of the items said back order at the time. I am waiting on a skirt I ordered in JULY!! So yeah just keep that in mind.
I have so much to do today but I am not so motivated. Better get it together. Have an amazing weekend everyone, I am sure I will be updating again soon!!

Fallen Knight WIP
Hi Everyone,
I've been busy busy busy! I have prints available up on the site of Sea Spray. I have even made a matted archival one which is hand accented. I really like how it turned out. I have been sketching out some new pieces. I have a new digital piece called Fallen Knight. The horse you see here has seen some battle and is returning home without the hero who once rode him. This will most likely be a very somber looking piece. Lots of detail, metal, leather, fabric and rocks and trees. I don't know how quickly I am going to be able to finish this one. I do think I will finish Enchanted moon this week so I will still have something new for you all by Sunday. I want to get as many pieces as I can finished for the con and really after try to keep this pace so I have some nice things for the holidays as well. I had a lot of fun making this armored horse so I would say it is safe to say that if this one goes well there will be more where that came from. I heart draft horses SO MUCH. I could paint them and nothing else forever but that would be boring for you so I promise I won't. If anyone is wondering why I have gone unicorn crazy lately it is because I am getting psyched up for a calendar I am working on for next year! With a real publisher even..I will have do make some more critters for you guys so you don't get bored but I want this calendar to be PERFECT. So bear with me.

Reimaging
Things here are really about to change, the pace is quickening and I feel like finally the tide is starting to turn for the better. I have a sales rep helping me with my figurines so I think whole sale orders will be increasing. I also want to make things look a lot prettier and more professional for my customers. I am thinking along the lines of packaging, branding and things like that. It will take more work I am sure but I feel the end result will be well worth it. I think it is time for me to get out of the kiddie pool and have everything streamlined and perfect. Everything up until now was a learning process and I have sat back and thought long and hard about what I want my company to be and where I want it to go. Life seems to be pointing me in a particular direction that I feel that is going to take me to the places I was meant to be both personally and with my business. This year for me has been the craziest ever and just when I thought the ride was over I seem to keep getting curve balls. Much like my totem the phoenix I am always in some state of change in one form or another. I can't tell you how long it has been since I have been really really jazzed about my work and my art. I was in a rut for a bit of time I think.
With that said I would like to let you know I have officially left Blue Moon Stones. I have a small assortment of slates in my closet and will be posting them for sale. I think Blue Moon Stones may have two more of my slates and then no more. For me it was a bit odd to say goodbye, it was my very first licensing deal, and though I appreciate my first break I feel like it is time for me to move on.
Secondly ,I am going to be no longer carrying my first five figurines from Music City Marketing. Fluffy, Dante,Whisper,Mephe and Jay are in limited stock and once I am out I will not re order. They have decided to continue selling them to their retailers but for me I want to focus on the resin statuary I manufacture myself for space and financial reasons. I also control everything and if you truly know me you know I am obsessive about my company and hate to really turn that over to anyone if I don't have to.
There are going to be a lot more things going on here but I don't have the time or energy to really go in greater detail about it at the moment. I am going to be busy busting tail so if I start to fall behind with emails,comments and calls I am sorry in advance. This stuff needs to be done though

Purrsnicketys figurine arrival date!!
Hello Everyone,
I just got an actual date for the shipment of my Purrsnickety figurines as well as the fairy foxes. They will be delivered here 6/26. I will have to go through all the cartons and sign things so they obviously will not ship next day or anything. We will get them out ASAP though. I am taking pre orders at this time. They are 16.00 per, they come signed and I will combine shipping for several figurines. Anyone buying an entire set of 8 will receive a special gift from me.
